LORETA ZDANAVIČIENĖ

Loreta Zdanavičienė (b. 1962) graduated from the Vilnius Art Institute, majoring in drawing and fine arts. She is an expert teacher of supplementary education and author of methodological publications. Since 2002 member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union.

In Loreta Zdanavičienė’s paintings, her personal space is of particular importance. The unique world she has created resembles diaries with notes in the margins. They are like whispers, coming out in short pictorial narratives, composed of plants found in nature and their forms, placed in different stylized planes. Minimalist motifs of flower blossoms, fragile buds, nodding plants, dried grass stems, plant seeds, berries, and conditional, stylised painting dialogues are combined in a confined space. In this personal space, dialogues of slowly passing time and silence are also knitted together, reminiscent also of the philosophical traditions of Eastern art.

She has been with the school since 2008. She teaches groups of children.
