SIGITA MORKŪNAITĖ

Sigita Morkūnaitė (b. 1992) holds a BA in painting and printmaking from the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland in 2016. In 2019 she graduated in Art Education from Vilnius University. Participated in exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad – Scotland, England, Italy, Latvia.

Exploring the possibilities of the old Flemish technique of painting, her paintings seek to speak about the liminal states of humanity and the pivotal moments where the intersection between the otherness and the self, which occasionally glimpses in the everyday, occurs. The paintings are characterised by subtle mysticism, naturalism, quiet, earthy colours and magical realism. Recently, a greater part of his work has been devoted to drawings and watercolours.

She has been with the school since 2018.
